Ingredients
With being a stay-at-home mom, I really do not have time to do much research on ingredients. I was tired of going to the store, reading the nutrition label and seeing all the harmful ingredients that was in some of the sauces, canned items, and baking items. I wanted to make sure all my condiments, cereals, and baked goods were all clean and organic. That is when I discovered Thrive Market. Substitutions
- Chicken- instead of chicken, add in sausage.
- Spinach – Instead of spinach, use broccoli.
- Pasta Noodles – instead of using pasta noodles, if you want to make this more vegetable dense then use zucchini noodles.
- Heavy Whipping Cream- Instead of using heavy whipping cream, use chicken broth.
Variations
- Spicy – add Tony Chachere’s, Seasoning, Cajun
- Deluxe – add more meat like shrimp or sausage. You can also add more vegetables to it as well like broccoli or asparagus. If you do this, then you might want to double the sauce.
- Kid friendly – If you think that your kids will notice the spinach in there then instead of the spinach add in shredded carrots and shredded zucchini.
Equipment
Storage
One pan creamy chicken pasta can last 5-7 days in the refrigerator.
If you are storing the pasta into the freezer it can last up to six months!
Top tip
Pastas are so easy to hide vegetables in. Do not be afraid to add some shredded carrots or zucchini. The family will not notice it and you are filling their body with nutrients without them knowing!
Also, make a couple of these at a time. Double, triple, or quadruple the recipe and then store them in the freezer!
If you do happen to store in the freezer either use a freezer bag or use a freezer safe container.
