It is getting to that time of year again when the seasons are changing, and kids start to get sick. Let’s make it our goal to be prepared to handle our loved ones with natural and healing remedies!

I am always kicking myself in the butt when it comes to that time of year where my littles get sic, and I don’t have the holistic healing items on hand that I need. I want to be prepared this year, and I want it to be simple for my husband or I to grab at that 1, 2, or 3 AM in the morning when our kids are coming in our room not feeling well.

I started holistic healing in 2020 when I had my first son. I realized all the damaging things that are in our medicines, and I wanted to go a route that would heal and nurture my family instead of causing more harm to their bodies.

What is Holistic Healing?

Holistic healing is a wellness approach that considers the whole person, including their body, mind, spirit and emotions. The goal is to achieve a balance between them all to lead to optimal health!

Holistic healing practices include- a healthy, rich and wholesome diet, aromatherapy, slow living, toxin free-living, stress-free living, and a spiritual life.

Why we should live a holistic lifestyle

A holistic lifestyle covers the whole body, mind and soul. Whereas modern medicine covers one specific area.

For example, let’s say you are struggling with a horrible headache, so you take Tylenol. This is a quick solution to solve the issue you are having and is only focusing on making that headache go away. Whereas if we were healing your body holistically, we would check on your whole health. Are you stressed? Did you look at your phone or computer to long? Is your neck needing adjusted? and the list goes on. We would try and resolve it looking at you whole health instead of just one certain area.

What is Western Medicine?

Western, also known as Conventional, healthcare is an approach to medicine that’s based on modern science. Western medicine focuses on the one issue instead of examining the whole body. They then use medication to fix the issue. These medications are made out of chemicals, byproducts and are biologically engineered.

My views on medication

Now, let me just say I am so thankful I live in a time and age where I have modern medicine around. I have a son that has respiratory issues and G.I. issues and when it comes to that time of year where sickness is going around there is always a good chance he is going to be in the hospital. With that being said, I am thankful for the doctors and the medication that can cure in when he is at his worst.

HOWEVER, I try very hard to heal and help my family as much as possible by going the holistic route. I believe that food is medicine, and it all starts by what we put in our bodies. I know that if I feed my family a healthy and wholesome diet then it is less likely for them to end up in the hospital. Also, I love that holistic healing remedies focuses on their overall health instead of just one area.
