The world feels loud lately, doesn’t it?
Scrolling through headlines, listening to conversations at the grocery store, catching glimpses of division, fear, and noise… it’s enough to make any mom’s heart ache. The weight of raising children in this culture can feel crushing. But as I sat with the Gospel readings this week, one truth whispered loudest:
The only things we can take with us into Heaven are our faith… and our children.
And if that’s true, then every moment .. the messy ones, the mundane ones, the miraculous ones matters more than we think.

A Week of Gospel Truths:
This week’s Gospel readings painted a powerful picture of motherhood in action:
Mary at the foot of the cross (Monday) reminded us that presence is sometimes the most powerful ministry we can offer. She stood in agony, not fixing, not fleeing — just being. And isn’t that what motherhood so often requires?
The widow at Nain (Tuesday) reminded us of God’s tenderness toward mothers who grieve, who ache, who are carrying losses no one else sees. Jesus stopped for her. He sees you too.
The call to listen like children (Wednesday) made me think of how easily my kids hear truth in ways adults miss. Their hearts are soft soil. What are we sowing into them?
The woman with the alabaster jar (Thursday) showed us what deep love looks like vulnerable, unashamed, repentant. May we model that kind of love for our children, not perfection, but surrender.
The women who followed and provided for Jesus (Friday) reminded me that our quiet faithfulness, the meals we make, the laundry we fold, the resources we steward ..they matter in God’s Kingdom.
The parable of the sower (Saturday) convicted me. I don’t want to raise kids who hear God’s word but get choked out by the thorns of the world. I want their hearts to be good soil. But first… mine must be too.
And today’s parable of the dishonest steward (Sunday) reminds us that we are stewards of everything our time, our home, our money, our children. Are we using it all for eternal good?
We Are Raising Souls
You are not just changing diapers, managing tantrums, or scrubbing dishes.
You are forming eternal souls.
This season isn’t about perfection. It’s about faithful planting. And just like the parable of the sower, not every seed may grow the way you hoped. Some days your words feel trampled. Some lessons feel choked out by stress or busyness or the distractions of this world.
But every Gospel seed you plant in your child’s heart matters.
Every whispered prayer.
Every time you choose patience over anger.
Every moment you pause to teach them truth.
It matters. Eternally.
Faith Is the Legacy
The clothes will go out of style.
The toys will get donated.
The Instagram trends will fade.
But the faith you pour into your children’s hearts will echo beyond this life.
And it starts small. Reading a toddler gospel aloud. Pointing out God’s goodness on a walk. Letting them see you pray. Asking for forgiveness. Lighting a candle before dinner. Singing a hymn at bedtime.
It’s not about having all the answers …it’s about showing them where to find the Truth.

If this week felt messy…
If you skipped the devotional…
If you yelled more than you wanted…
If you’re tired and unsure and stretched thin…
You’re not behind. You’re a mom in the thick of holy ground.
The enemy wants you to believe that motherhood is small, that it doesn’t matter, that the world is too far gone. But God is still moving. He is still redeeming. And He is still choosing moms like you to carry the next generation toward Heaven.
So this week, let’s keep planting. Keep praying. Keep clinging to the cross.
Because in the end, we carry nothing to Heaven but our faith and the little hearts who followed us there.
